ZOLLERN BHW and Miba plan a plain bearings joint venture

ZOLLERN BHW Plain Bearings plans on founding a joint venture with Miba, the global supplier of engine bearings.

Zollern BHW develops and manufactures industrial bearings, engine bearings, slide bearings for hydroelectric power stations and housing-type slide bearings at two production sites in Germany and one plant in Brazil. The company is among the leading bearing manufacturers, generating annual revenues of approximately 70 million euro with a staff of about 600 employees. By merging and having integrated locations in Europe, North America, South America and China, even better customer care can be provided for clients around the world. The joint venture will offer new opportunities resulting from synergies and specialisations in bearing engineering. ZOLLERN will have 25.1% of the shares in the new company. In addition to bearing technology, the ZOLLERN corporate group is internationally successful in its four areas of business: drive technology, casting and forging, steel profiles and mechanical engineering elements. ZOLLERN, with its main headquarters in Laucherthal (Germany), employs 3,000 workers globally at 21 locations.
The implementation of the joint venture is contingent upon approval from the antitrust authorities.
